Introduction of NPL (non-performing loan) Act in Hungary
Act XII of 2025 on servicers of non-performing credit agreements and purchasers of non-performing
credit agreements entered into force on 16 May 2025, implementing EU Directive No. 2021/2167 in
order to establish an all-inclusive system for the transfer, management, and servicing of non-
performing loans.
Obligation of branches to open bank account
Branches of foreign companies are obliged to open bank accounts from 2025 onwards in Hungary.
