Newly introduced Hungarian Code of Advertising Ethics

A modernized Hungarian Code of Advertising Ethics will enter into force on 30 June 2023 with the purpose of preventing advertisers from misleading consumers with false information. The comprehensive amendment affects, e.g., the advertising of food and healthcare products, and digital advertising.

Online price monitoring system coming

With the aim of boosting competition and transparency in retail, the government is introducing an online price monitoring database from 1 July 2023, which will record daily and regular customer food prices in chain stores, initially for more than 60 food product categories.
